I was born in St. Paul and lived in the Twin Cities area until I was 17. I’m a proud Minnesotan even if I’m not proud of my country overall. Seeing an assassination (let’s call it what it is, folks) shake everyone to the core there is unsettling. My dad still lives in St. Paul and I have other family in the area as well. I’m sure that I’ll be talking about all of this with my dad soon. On another note I’m immensely proud of all of the Americans that are protesting today. There’s even one in the area that I’m living in that started fairly early this morning. We can’t fight fascism with non-violence. That’s just the way it is. I wish that none of us were in this position at all but that’s how it’s gotta be. No gods, no masters and certainly no kings.
