i posted my tac nayn belt on bulletins before, but i forgot to document the process of making it :\
my friend asked me to make her a nyan cat one for her birthday tho so i'm gonna try and explain how i did that :3
here's the pics first, so y'all know what we're getting into:

the belt i used for the 1st one was really old so i was able to peel the fake leather off it and use markers to draw the trail, but for the 2nd one i used acryllic paint. you should probably use leather paint if you have it but i never do things as i'm supposed to so...
anyways step 1 is sketching out the design you want on the belt and painting a few coats of white as a base

like this! you can do the trail over the whole belt if you want (like i did with the tac nayn one) but i feel like acrylic paint would crack over time on the parts that bend
for the stars, you can go ahead and draw them by hand but that takes a while so i recommend using a scalpel and a peice of paper to make a stencil
after it dries you can start with the actual colors! if you want them to look more vibrant try mixing the slightest bit of yellow into each shade
don't bother too hard to make it perfect, no one's gonna be looking at it THAT close
after you've painted the belt start working on the nyan cat thing
you could just paint it on the belt itself but i decided to make it removable/adjustable.
1. trace the picture on a peice of felt and cut it out. i suggest using white felt as it's easier to paint, but any color will work. i forgot to take pictures for this part but you should make the head seperate from the rest of the body, as it looks better and more 3d
2. paint it with acrylic paint!
3. cut out another square of felt the same size as the body. the color of this one doesn't really matter
4. get a piece of elastic and sew it on the square (it's better to have two peices on either side of it, but i didn't have any more left so i just used one)
it doesn't have to look nice, it just has to hold well

5. sew the head to the body and the body to the back, like this:
(sewing is stronger but if you don't know how to do it you can just glue the pieces together)

now just put the cat on the belt and we're done!!!
i hope this was understandable! :D if y'all decide to make this pls send me pics!! i wanna see :33

It seems like you created something new that could take off as a style staple or trend. It looks very good too -I’m taking notes and going to save this as a reference.
