Why some people love createing OC ?

I enjoy creating OC. Give them a name like they are my babies - they are -. Creating names, story, even how they act, or how they look. Why is this so much fun? I have a lot of OC

Eight in one world I created when I was in middle school, and the fact that they are now at my age makes me cry ... I love them so much! 

Two is actually me, my XXFJ side, and XXTP. I still don't know myself well because of them

One in this year, my university year, to help me go ahead when I feel down

I think the idea of OC is amazing, as it allows you to know yourself better, or just make them hurt to feel better ...
