CHAT!! Hi guys (hello the void I’m screaming into)!! So I’ve been online for about 5-6 years now (like ACTIVELY online talking to people who are also chronically online) and I’ve noticed something very obvious: people online just don’t seem to care as much. And while that can be a good thing what with people being more willing to open up and honestly for me to also just be out here yapping more, it can also obviously be a TERRIBLE thing. People with free will can be toxic as fuck believe it or not.
And so that’s the problem I find myself with in spacehey, discord, Roblox, etc. of course there’s always the signs: asking if I have a bf, trying to do the whole guilt tripping spiel, love bombing, and more but it’s still so difficult to know for sure because… well some one you’ve known for 4 months could one day decide he wants to stalk you and that’s that.
Idk how much you guys struggle with this kind of thing but erm tell me about it I do want to hear how yall deal with toxic online friends.

yk what I am gonna write about this topic cause like my 2023 online chats migth get me to jail O.O They are not like bad to much at least T.T But I get what you are saying both in feeling like love or just friendship its hard in online without people being..TO MUCH...
RIGHT?? Like I can totally understand people finding love online and all that but like people fall in love so quickly over what is essentially just pixels on a screen they haven’t even met online to the point of stalking and death threats. It’s just terrifying to live in that kind of world as a girl. if you had any experiences with this kind of stuff I’d love to hear about it thoughhh

Thats crazy scary! People in general feel somehow very quickly entitled to attention or certain feelings from someone. This ofc can happen in real life as well as online but it can be harder to spot/easier to ignore when you are both behind screens.
However you did absolutely nothing wrong. Anyone who decides STALKING someone is the right decision has some screws loose. You can unfortunately never be sure what someones intentions are. Just try to be safe and I hope everything was resolved and you are okay now.
Yes I’m doing better now! It’s just really taught me a lesson that you can never really trust someone fully until you really REALLY test their character. Stalking someone though that has to be one of the top 5 WORST things to happen for your mental health and mental well being though

That's good to hear. I cannot imagine the insane paranioa a person would get after something like stalking. I get that it's portrayed in a lot of media but i feel like a lot of the lingering effects on a person are overlooked.

Yes no genuinely the whole fall out from BEING ACTIVELY stalked are not talked about at all in media and it’s such a serious issue. Like the paranoia of never knowing who to trust or who might be watching you, the trauma of knowing someone was… you know… beating meat to you is violating and embarrassing. Ugh it’s just a disgusting thing to be put through that I would not wish on my worst enemy (except maybe the guy who did the stalking)

YEAH DW therapy helped a LOT and I had so many amazing friends who supported me and helped me through it and I’m glad to say I basically fully recovered from it! Just glad things didn’t go further

This is something I was pretty much thinking about the other day. You really don't know who you're dealing with, even in RL. Even friends you've known for years can turn on a dime. It's not good to be dishonest with people, but it's also not good to be too honest either, because that will also offend them. You can also be entirely respectful, and be blocked out of the blue.
So, I can empathize.
This!! And I really do think that like a lot of online ppl in some ways do reflect irl people too. Not in a one to one sort of way but a lot of the flaws and imperfections people have online are just repressed in real life. Scary stuff scary stuff
