I really like watching horror movies but i HATE when it has 30 jumpscares in a single scene and for the rest of the movie thereโs nothing? I prefer a movie that is more slow and with a plot than just too many jumpscares like that ๐ญ Itโs just boring to meย

Tesuo: The Iron Man and Videodrome are films that don't really rely on jumpscares, rather body horror and a really good story
Thank you so much for the recommendation! Fun fact: my fav movie is Suspiria (2018) and it doesnโt rely on jumpscares as well!

I actually am meaning to watch it soon. Is it similar to the og from 1977, which i've seen, or is it quite different?

So itโs a remake but itโs more dark and deep than the original. The protagonist and the characters are almost the same, it changes a lot the cinematography and the story is more specific

horror that relies on jumpscares isnt horror. if the story isnt gripping enough so you need to add a bunch of cheap scares to make your audience feel something you have FAILED

people are so used to shortform media these days bc of tiktok and yt shorts they cant even sit thru a 1.5-2 hour film if theyre not constantly being stimulated
