Rant about SC, yapping about SWS after (make sure to read the update at the bottom)

Artists mentioned: Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, Pierce the Veil, Sleeping with Sirens (especially Kellin Quinn), Patrick Stump

...not a big fan of Sabrina Carpenter. She's been everywhere since 2024, and I don't really see the appeal. All she sings about is men, whether it's loving or hating them. I'm not fond of it. This isn't even mentioning the way her new album's been looking. Maybe I should wait until the album releases before jumping to conclusions, but it just feels icky. Like at first, I thought she was pretty cool but she's slowly stopped being for the girls, if that makes sense? I don't know. Like everyone bashes Taylor Swift for singing about her evil exes when she has TONS of songs that aren't about men, yet nobody says shit about Sabrina's whole brand revolving around men. But then again, a lot of people don't like when someone's favorite popstar is Charli XCX when I ADORE her, so maybe I just don't get pop music. Also, I don't wanna hear any of that "you're not being a girls girl" or "you think you're so different" bullshit. I love women, you hear me? I LOVE WOMEN.

...but it's clear that the path that Sabrina's BRANDING, NOT MUSIC is going does not. It's giving Sydney Sweeney bathwater soap, it's giving Bonnie Blue exhibit. (I hate knowing about that incident) But who knows? Maybe if I was pretty and famous and lusted over and American I would also be that much of a menace.

Now that we got our superficial negativity of the week out of the way, let's chat about a music genre I actually casually enjoy. I saw Pierce the Veil, Sleeping With Sirens, and Beach Weather the other day. My favorite artist out of those three is Pierce the Veil (duh my url is literally vicfuenteslover69), but the best performance had to have been given by Sleeping With Sirens, and it definitely sparked something in my brain because Sleeping With Sirens has been all I've been thinking about, I actually love them. I've had experience as a Kellin Quinn fangirl (more than I'd like to admit), and now I can say I don't blame myself, he is INCREDIBLE at holding a crowd, he's an awesome performer, and I like his band's music. Also he worked on Sonic Frontiers so that's a bonus. My dad doesn't really like him because he's an edgy emo kid at heart and has that habit of using 'fuck' as a filler word , like he'd go "if you know this fucking song put your fucking hands up and sing the fuck along," it didn't really bug me because I tend to do that too (when I'm not trying to sound serious) but my dad  didn't like it, cause I'm pretty sure it was his first generally rock-ish concert, also he barely speaks any English, so "fuck" was the only word he understood from Kellin's high-pitched yelling at the crowd. I love him tho. A few weeks ago, I made a whole blog where I ranked photos of Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump because I was a little fixated on him, so I'm not gonna be shocked if I make one of those for Kellin.

Update: I have decided to stop thinking about Sabrina Carpenter's bullshit because I have learned that Sabrina Carpenter’s music is pretty shit in my opinion, and dwelling on whatever stunts she pulls is fan behavior and Sabrina Carpenter is one of those artists that I would do a million things before willingly subjecting my ears to the slop her fans call music. You guys stay safe tho!!
