I like Near cuz of how much mystery he has. If I'm going to yap about him, I'm going to start with his name because I'm bored and is and yap about him lmao
- His real name "Nate River" or "Nathaniel Rivers" had meanings, not just randomly ass picked. His name Nate is a shortened version of Nathaniel which meaning "Gift from God" or "God has given" and while his last name "River" or "Rivers" it means that his knowledge flows like a a river, His name already revealed his true purpose in the series because in the bible (despite I'm an Atheist I knew so much about it) already mentioned it, Nathaniel is one of Jesus's Twelve Disciples and which Jesus already recognizing him being the God of the Lord himself. Like in the Death note manga, it kept mentioning that Near, was the "gifted from the above" like how Jesus himself recognized Nathaniel in the bible. Made sense why Near was already chosen to be leading the new SPK.
- For Near's Alias, it's just a shortened version of his name and it just took a few letters from his real name so yeah.
- I keep noticing this about Near that he's so different in other medias. First it was the Manga and it showed that he had more human personality and which I saw in the Manga when his teammates got killed he was genuinely sadden and it also showed his true personality(I dunno if he's hiding smth) which he's sassy asf🧍♂️
- in the Drama version, he is shown to be more respectful and acting like an actual kid. Ya know the respectful ones that know how to be embarrassed too at some point in life right? He's also a lot kinder in the drama and dude is smiling :,3
-in the Anime, he is shown detached and which left me feeling like why did the anime did him dirty like way too dirty that half of the fandom didn't like him like girl what the fuck🧍♂️
