What Does It Mean to Exist Fully?

We wake up, check our phones, rush through routines, fill our lungs with air, and call it living.

But is that existing? Is existence the echo of our heartbeat or the moments we feel it?

Sometimes, I think it’s in the tiny things, like how sunlight slips through the curtains and lands on someone’s face, how we fall in love with a song because it sounds like something we forgot, how we stare at the stars and feel both infinite and insignificant.

Existing fully is not about being busy. It’s not about ticking off lists or being known by a crowd. It’s about being, quietly, honestly, entirely.

It’s when you sit with your silence and don’t run away. When your thoughts scare you but you listen anyway. When you love someone and let them know, even if it terrifies you. When you cry for no reason and don’t apologize for it.

To exist fully is to feel, to feel the ache of missing someone, the burn of hope, the comfort of a hand in yours. To stand in the middle of chaos and still choose softness. To forgive yourself. Over and over again.

It’s writing something just because your soul needs to speak. It’s watching the rain fall and realizing you’ve survived every storm so far. It’s looking in the mirror and recognizing yourself, not who the world sees, but who you are when no one’s watching.

Existing fully doesn’t always look loud.Sometimes it’s quiet.Sometimes it’s messy. But it’s real.So maybe, to exist fully is to stop trying to be something and start allowing yourself to be everything you already are.

Aww so sweet thank you for writing this for others to see my favorite line was "Existing fully doesn’t always look loud.Sometimes it’s quiet.Sometimes it’s messy. But it’s real.So maybe, to exist fully is to stop trying to be something and start allowing yourself to be everything you already are." that line really meant alot to me!

Thank you so much for your kind words, it genuinely means a lot to know that line resonated with you. I think so many of us are taught to measure our existence by how visible or productive we are, when in reality, some of the most powerful moments are the quiet, honest ones. I'm really glad it spoke to you. You’re not alone in feeling this way, and I hope you keep allowing yourself to be exactly as you are, messy, real, and fully human 🌿

Thank you so much, that means a lot. I think deep down, many people do feel this way, they’ve just forgotten how to say it or are too caught up in survival to pause and reflect. But the beauty of sharing thoughts like these is that it reminds us we’re not alone in craving something real, slow, and meaningful. Maybe if more of us keep choosing honesty over perfection, feeling over performance, the world will quietly shift, one tender thought at a time.

I really appreciate you opening up and sharing that. I can only imagine how tough dissociation must feel at times, and it means a lot to know these words spoke to you in some way. Those tiny, grounding moments really do matter more than we realize, they remind us we’re still here, still feeling, still human, even when everything else feels distant.I'm genuinely grateful that my writing could be part of that process for you. And honestly, your message reminds me why I write in the first place. So thank you, for reading, for feeling, for being here.

I actually love this. To exist fully is to feel and express our emotions because humans were born with emotions, and emotions is the most intimate thing ever created. You can feel what you love or hate, if you feel things with your soul and it’s a wonderful thing. But we also have to learn how to control ourselves when we feel any negative emotions.

Thank you so much for this beautiful reflection. You're absolutely right, emotions are perhaps the most human part of our existence. They are the raw language of the soul, unfiltered and deeply intimate. To feel is a privilege, even when it hurts. It reminds us that we’re alive, that something matters enough to stir us from within. And yes, learning to hold space for those emotions without letting them consume us, that's a lifelong art. It's not about suppressing the dark or overly glorifying the light, but about embracing the full spectrum and learning when to listen, when to act, and when to let go.Emotional honesty paired with emotional maturity, that’s where real growth lies. Thank you for reminding me of that.
