Doll Poem

Cold and isolated

Lonely and desolated

What was there to be

For a drone as lonely as she?

Through gritted teeth and strained muscles

She can't escape her struggles

Try as she might with strained exhales

But nothing changes when all fails

Her heart so pure, so fierce, and strong

But deep down she was weak all along

With grief and sorrow

There was no amount of strength her mind could borrow

Harsh words and harsher actions

To get rid of all distractions

So determined to do what was right

She became her own burden overnight

Oil and tears shed in her wake

No matter how she tried to remain, she wasn't hard to break

Her mask slipped more than once

Yet she continued to reject compassion for months

As sharp as a knife did she try

But that look that adorned her eye

Told more than any words could

But she was still misunderstood

She took her love to the end

Without ever making a true single friend

Her last breath she used to defend

Perhaps an attempt to make an amend

As she laid in her casket, silent and deactivated

Nothing about her love and care was fabricated

She was tough and bold

But now her story was told

Now she was to be forgotten

By the others that treated her like she was rotten

Her broken mind couldn't ever find condolence

And she drowned in her own cycle of violence
