I was originally going to write today's blog about mental health due to some stuff that happened to me in relation to that this week. I'm gonna talk about music instead though on the grounds that I want to.
I've been trying to listen to more music lately. Rather, I've been trying to vary my music a bit. When I was younger, I listened to almost exclusively country music (I am born and raised Texan, don't judge me!!). It honestly took quite a while for people in my life to get me to expand my horizons, and I'm so glad that they did. It still takes me a while to add new songs to my playlist though. I have this tendency to find a couple songs I like and then listen to them on repeat for like a year before looking for new music.
Today, I'm gonna share 3 of the songs I've been listening to this year.
Most recently, I discovered the song Dopamine by Madelline. Madelline is a francophone artist writes songs in English and French. This song has an English version, a French version, and (the one that I linked) a "split-brain" version that plays the English in the right ear and the French in the left (for those who don't know, I spent 10 years learning French, so I find this song super fun).
Next is a song written by an artist I've been following for quite a while now, Hi Ren by Ren. This song focuses on the mental health struggles of the artist himself, personifying his intrusive thoughts as a separate version of himself. It hits pretty close to home for me. It's pretty long, so be prepared if you decide to give it a listen!
Lastly, there we have Monopoly Money by Moon Walker. This is a bit of a punk-y, vaguely threatening rock song targeting wealthy CEOs. I honestly don't know what more I can say about it other than I like it. Give it a try if that sounds like your vibe!
If you have any recommendations, definitely leave a comment! I think I'm gonna do this more often. Learning about a person's music taste, especially what they're currently listening to, can really give you a lot of insight into what's going through that person's head, and I try to be an open book.
Thanks for reading! <3

Omg, gurl you don't have to worry about me ignoring you just for your music taste! Like I said in my blog, I used to listen to almost exclusively country, so I totally get having music taste that others don't jive with.
I just listened to it! While it's certainly not my typical vibe, but I'd be a liar if I said I didn't like it! ;P
