mushrooms and critters i found last weekend

Fucked around in the woods, found out some shit.

First up, a beautifully formed cluster of Dryad's Saddle (do NOT use this blog as a source for plant/fungus identification, I am just a random guy). Apparently edible, though these may be too mature to be tasty. Quite a treat to seeΒ β€”for me, not the tree. It's fatal to the tree. RIP.Β

Through researching this fungus, I discovered you can make mushroom paper?? Now I've gotta try that. Maybe I'll go back and harvest these for it.

Next, a delightful slug on a mushroom. I made a halfhearted attempt to identify the slug. Turns out, there are a lot of brown slugs. And don't ask what mushroom that is, I couldn't find that either.

Sat for a while and watched a pair of Green Frogs (Lithobates Clamitans). They were adorable <3Β

Fun fact, these guys will turn a darker green on colder days to better absorb heat!

A jumping spider (Sitticus Floricola Palustris, I believe)! Always a favourite to see. Very curious creatures! Often eager to interact with humans.

And lastly, one of nature's silliest creations, the humble weevil (Polydrusus impressifrons).

Okay bye.
