Heyo! ~❤️
So like.. I'm a 19yo female that's fresh out of her freshman year of college. Of course, I'm going back for my sophomore year in the Fall but ever since I been home from school I just can't seem to find anyone looking to hire. I really want to get a job so I'm not just sitting home doing nothing. I want to contribute to my family because they've done so much for me, but again, nobody wants to hire. I've been dabbling with the idea of doing freelance work, but I genuinely don't know where to start. Websites like Uptowork requires you to buy "bids" so you can apply to a job, but it doesn't guarantee your spot obviously. Then there's sites like Fiverr, but getting spotted on there is like hell on earth.
I genuinely don't know what to do. I've submitted countless job applications for the last couple of weeks, and even got rejected at an interview (just yesterday!)
I don't know if my luck is just bad, or if this is how the job market is nowadays.
Any tips on what I should do?

Yeah the job market is kind of messed up right now. If you really need something to do you can try just going out and looking for nearby stores that are hiring (idk what kind of town or like city you grew up in so might or might not work) and for freelance stuff you can honestly try and get started on like TikTok or insta? Idk what type of freelance work you’re trying to do but if you can get some publicity it would really help more ppl get eyes on your work.

I struggled a lot to find a job too. Your best bet is probably asking your family and friends if they know anyone who is hiring. My sister got three different jobs through my mom knowing someone who knew someone on facebook. Also, try applying in person. A lot of companies use ai to sift through applications so a lot of time an actual person won't even see your application before it's discarded. I got ghosted so many times T-T
