yap sess #2 (dolls are quite possibly the coolest thing ever right after cats or maybe even chickens)

i LOVE dolls; i think they're probably the best sort of toy/art/thing to have

they are quite useless but i don't care i love having them. i just think they're a rather pure medium for creation and whatever yadiyadiyada. i've made so many in the past year or so. most of them have wire armature with either needle felted wool around the bones or clay (if you don't have either of these, you cld totes js wrap yarn around the wires until it has enough for a body!) do anime figures could as dolls?? i'd say yes

i really want to have one of those cute ball-jointed ones but they are EXPENSIVE!! and i can't exactly make one (quite unfortunate),, hopefully i'll be empl*yed this summer so i can save up for one. one thing i've really noticed is how little "boy" dolls are in the market. i felt like a creep for having so many dolls that r just girls but whatevs i stay being happy. had to get this out b/c my friends r sick and tired of hearing me yap about dolls (although they don't complain about the copious handmade dolls i've given them...... fakers)

NO idea where this wld go so it's going in life

Love dolls too! I don't think they're useless because they bring joy to people who appreciate them. Handmade dolls are especially cool.

As for ball-jointed dolls may I recommend Jun Planning's line from the 00's-early 10's? It was called Ai (the Japanese word, not robots) and they were made of ABS plastic instead of resin, so the price was a bit lower. I got most of mine for about 30-50 dollars apiece. They pop up on secondhand sites pretty often!

OMG yes!! i've been looking around and i saw some of those for sale on ebay (im looking at beloperone for ages she's so cute) i didnt know they were made with plastic, so thanks for that information! i really like the boxes they come in. i actually found and bought a ball jointed doll on poshmark not so long ago for sixteen bucks. i was surprised by the find and the seller seemed to be collecting them for a while. her legs are a little wonky even after a restring, but she's adorable and that price was insane so i'm perfectly happy with her, even came with extra clothes and a magic eraser :DD

and i really like your take on dolls, you're very right in saying they bring happiness so they arent useless, i think i was just being a bit pessimistic and exaggerated when i wrote this (ᵕ ´ ∇ ˋ ˶) now i'm just glad to be slowly building up my collection. how long have you been collection toys/dolls?

Hiii I just remembered I have this account lol. I actually have beloperone but for some reason never really clicked with her. I think I might get her a new wig, maybe then we can bond lol. I've been collecting toys... idk, I'm not sure when playing with them as a kid turned into adult collecting. Congrats on your BDJ, by the way!
