deltarune chapter 3 and 4 is peak

wow that sure was worth the 2 year wait !  ! ! (truth) the loredrops were CRAZY, like with chapter 3 and their endless spamton tie-ins, often having his motif scattered through the songs. the knight making an appearance less than HALFWAY into the game?? GERSON BOOM!?!??!! yeah, cant wait for the next chapter to tell me asriel is actually trapped in a darkworld and we have to go save him or something. 

the secret boss for chapter three made me pull my hair out, honestly. im pretty sure i spent upwards of an entire day on him (professional unemployed, i know.) and i only lived on 1 hp. hits like a truck and faster than a jet i hate this guy. chapter 4's secret boss was even cooler with the spear of justice motif being thrown in it which was a nice callback to undertale ! ! ! 

dude tenna is literally me guys i swear

dude tenna is so cool he is HILARIOUS every time he shows up on screen. at first i was mildly discomforted by his existence but he quickly grew on me when he started hitting a jig like the super cool guy he was. the fact that hes a 3d character thats actively animated in more than 2 keyframes (exaggerating) really made my eyes happy. his little intro when the chapter starts was also really funny to watch while also making the fact clear that tenna is REALLY old and outdated, as much as he wants to think hes not. it was also kind of sad to see why he was acting the way he was.

so yeah, the roaring knight decides to make their grand debut in the THIRD CHAPTER. i feel both spoiled and starved given that we know basically nothing about them other than theyre the big evil person at the end of the game and that they absolutely steamrolled my team in a single move (sidenote: i LOVE the trope of the main antagonist showing up just to neg-diff the heroes. its always fun to see the wide powergap between the previously confident, slightly cocky heroes and the ever present threat).

chapter 3's little route for the secret boss was a little unnerving, like something was going to pop out from the dark at all times. reminded me a little of whenever i play single player games at night, i sometimes get that feeling whenever the game is especially dull. i swear the last bit before the shadow mantle boss fight was also just one big undertale reference. killing things to get stronger, the iron fish. oh and i guess the lore implications between kris and the knight but thats BORING because everyone will get to know that just by following the normal story.

chapter 4's ending was hilarious at first then slightly tragic realising that i spent the entire chapter thinking the knight took toriel only to show her dancing with SANS UNDERTALE? i wonder how toby's gonna keep continuing this because it is wild. 

a funny little thing about the secrets is that at first, i lost about an hours worth of progress when i missed the secret boss (hes not important or anything, im just a completionist) which was no big deal due to having a save right before youre locked out of fighting them. the problem arises when my stupid dumb silly brain OVERWRITES the save thinking i wont screw up the egg. i screwed up the egg. this silly little mistake set me back five hours, near the start of the chapter. other than that TINY screwup, i really loved the storytelling. 

i WAS thinking of doing snowgrave but my friend told me the new chapters snowgrave is kind of messed up so i ended up deciding against it (who knows, maybe morbid curiosity will get the better of me, huh?)

anyways uhh uhm check back with me when hollow knight silksong comes out never ! i kind of wanna yap about the finer details about the chapters but i also dont wanna be that one guy that spoils every little thing for like the 3 people that didnt properly read the title. ok bye !  ! !
