Ok so I have a problem. Iβm going to college after the summer (GRADUATION HOORAYY ππ) and I need to know. Should I be like buying a bunch of stuff so that I can like fully redecorate my dorm room (yes MINE AND NOT ANYONE ELSES!! I have a room to myself) or should I be trying to keep everything more simple? Every semester we will be moving out into new dorms Im pretty sure but like GOD DAMN IT I REALLY DO WANT TO DECORATE AND MAKE EVERYTHING ARSTHETIC AND PRETTY..
Anyways lmk if anyone has any recommendationsΒ

im not even close to college age but im still saying anyways but you should definitly decorate, a semester is a while so it'll feel bland if you spend that long in a boring room, and its good to make the most of having no one to complain about it
MMMM WAIT YOURE COOKING I def want to decorate but I think Iβm probably not gonna go all out lol ill do some touching up though for sureee to make it look nice!

Personal opinion, if you wanna decorate a little, go for it! But Iβd suggest taking old stuff from your childhood, creating stuff, or budgeting yourself, and do it over time. Do not do it all at once! It is good to mindfully spend, and not just rush into things. College is pricy! Dorms are pricy! And you should focus more on necessity first, and then redecorate. But remember: you will have to take all these things down at the end of the year, so decorate wisely! :-)

haiii!! im also in the same situation as u where im moving in to my college in a few months :D From what my friends irl had told me and also researching online (mainly through reddit threads lolll...) i think its best to minimize the amount of stuff you have in ur dorm especially if u live far and have to move out frequently!! So I think a good tip for decorating ur dorm is to do it with things that dont take up a lot of space such as small figures, fairy lights, and prints u can hang on ur wall :D that way u get to keep luggage to a minimum while still keeping ur dorm cute and stuff!!

Maybe you should decorate the dorms since you want to do it so much, and I think very simple rooms are kind of weird, like something boring adults do or something teenagers do with controlling parents (no offense but probably already offending someone...) I don't know if I would take a lot of stuff to decorate, but if you have stuffed animals it would be nice to spread them around the room, they're cute (just what I think...)
Yeah my parents were really controllingβ¦ they never really let me do anything like that. But no yeah plushies sounds gooddd Iβll wait for after college to go all out π
