For most people, school life holds golden memories — but for me, it was just a dull, forgettable phase. After changing three schools, I ended up in one where I had no friends and no connection with teachers. I was that last-bencher nobody noticed.
Then came the lockdown — COVID-19 hit pause on life. But in that pause, my personality slowly started changing. I dove into the online world, made friends from different countries. For an introvert like me, social media became everything. But then I thought — maybe I can try in real life too.
High school came. New people, new energy. This time, I wanted to do something different — make a name for myself. One day, I got into an argument with a guy from a popular group. I was short and looked like a kid, he was tall and intimidating — but people noticed. I earned the nickname: "Small packet, big blast." That’s when I felt like I wouldn’t just be a background character anymore.
Then came Abuzar — we sat on the same bench. We had a few conversations, but I didn’t consider him a friend at first. Then one day, the teacher asked him, “Did you make any friends?” And he said, “Yes sir, my best friend is Yasin.” Hearing that made me genuinely happy. It touched my heart. That’s when I realized — sometimes, one real friend is worth more than a hundred fake ones.
That day, I found my crystal gem 💎.

I'm glad you found a good friend! I totally agree with the statement "one real friend is worth more than a hundred fake ones" I used to have a lot of fake friends growing up.
I've had to move three times in the past year and a half so I joined 8th grade this year in the second semester. Even during the time that I was there (around 5 months) I found so many people who relate to me and I finally feel like my friends are like family! But I do have one person that is my ride or die!
I'm now entering high school with at least one person who I know will stick around. I'm happy that you found someone, I once heard someone say "You find all the right people and suddenly life is worth living." This made me think of that because even though it says "people" sometimes all you need is one good person. Thank you for sharing this, I enjoyed reading! <3

I get you! im so happy that u have people to call you a friend now! thats honestly such a warm experience!
i didnt really have social media but i was on other plaltforms like amino (way before discord was a thing) i made a many friends there but now only a few remain. I was a social person but not the one who takes the first step to speak -- but now that has changed! I am good at initiating conversations with strangers with ease !
Just like you said about Amino, I’ve had a similar experience with making friends online. For example, I currently have around 700 friends on SpaceHey — I was honestly just going around adding people like crazy
But out of those 700, only about 50 ever react or have small conversations with me. And from those, maybe just 10 are actually real friends — the kind who hold deep conversations and genuinely try to understand me.
So yeah, it really shows that quality matters so much more than quantity. And after reading your comment, I honestly feel like you’re one of those rare, genuine ones too.
