Are the people here on spacehey truly cringe, or is it just someone's biased perception? [My thoughts on folks on spacehey. And the "you're cringe" blog I saw.]
Greetings, so earlier I read This blog right here that was worded quite rudely if you ask me. I won't bore you with the blogs contents so I'll summarize it for you, this blog called "you are cringe" is talking about 13 year olds using spacehey to be like an early 2000s high schooler and how it's apparently cringe. They used a lot of slang that originated from TikTok, so I'm not surprised by their hateful language and how they worded their opinions like it was some common fact. But there's a few factors that confuse me, and I'm not sure what they were thinking. The main factor is that they are talking about Spacehey, which was made to mimic early 2000s Myspace. So one would think that people would use it like an early 2000s high school kid, hell that's what some people their age use it as too. It was made as a "Retro social network", thus encouraging people to use it in such ways. If they didn't want to see people doing that, they should've just stayed on TikTok with their hateful and frankly nonsensical beliefs. Now, they have a right to their own opinions, but they stated said opinion as if it was common factual information. If they were just a bit calmer and much more sensible with their language [and drop the shitty TikTok slang] then maybe people would be more willing to listen to them, but instead they are getting backlash for their wordings. Now yes I may not be the best with my own wordings, but the reason I'm upset is because they were using it for hateful behavior. There's a stark difference between being hateful and stating an opinion, and it's clear they either don't understand that difference or straight up refuse to care. Now, I do not hate this person, for I have never met them before. But I believe they could've been a lot less rude about their opinions, that would've probably been better off for them anyway. I apologize about any redundancy in this blog, like I said my wordings and language aren't top notch like others. But I hope this helps convey my thoughts in a way that shows I don't hate them, but they could've easily been nicer about such hateful opinions. You’ve summed it up perfectly. I’ve not been on here long (8 hours and going strong!) and yeah, this is without a doubt a retro social network. I see spacehey as a way to get away from TikTok and all the other platforms like it, rather than a way to relive the 2000s (although it is pretty damn cool that it is pretty much MySpace 2.0). And so what if younger people wanna live that 2000s high school vibe? You should be able to do what you want without getting judged constantly, and yeah your point on ‘TikTok slang’ made me chuckle, and in all honesty I don’t particularly know any of it, nor do I want to know!

By the way that person probably deleted their account because they found out that we don't like that crap here and we actually do something instead of keeping it in. Literally half of their blogs were about children and how cringe everything is.

i saw the blog youre talking about and i strongly disliked what they were trying to say :,) not only was the wording incredibly rude, but it just pushes a lot of what i dislike about alternative spaces, particularly the scene space. (i wont really get into it tho, great blog!)
I've got no clue what the other blog is, but I think part of the issue is what different audiences want from the site. A lot of the younger folks use the site to sort of roleplay as if they're in that time period, while others want to simply use it to share their lives and interests as they would on MySpace without the horrid algorithms and excessive ads. I've seen both sides complain about the other and I don't think much can really help the problem.
A lot of child friendly websites were removed or corrupted, so kids are forced to mature and try to show themselves as the same age everyone else is. Looking up to people who are popular and mature, just for said people to call them cringe and put them down for no reason. Something I have mentioned pisses me off many times, I try and protect our younger members. He's constantly hating on 13 year olds who are only recently allowed on this stuff, and also still trying to figure themselves out.
I have a reason that was originally going to be a blog, it was because of how hateful TikTok has become. It seems there's more hateful plus talentless comments and videos rather than high effort and harmless media. Not to mention the ridiculous slang that shouldn't exist. I have heard about that problem on TikTok. It mostly applies in the US (some say half-jokingly and half-seriously that it is a plan by China). It's a topic about the algorithm, I mostly get animation, music (breakcore and jazz), poems, books, and HFY (humanity, fuck yeah stories (sci-fi)). My TikTok is very warm and calming, but at the same time depressing (I will pretend I don't know the reason).
Oh my goodness YES. I've seen that before I was so confused on why they were complaining about stupid crap that doesn't hurt anybody? I clicked their profile and it's literally just hate like keep that Tiktok stuff on their app. I'm starting to think SOME people from Tiktok only come here just to spread hate and be mean like actual this person is actual DIRT. Dude venting in his blog b!tching about "WAHHH I DON'T HAVE FREINDS" like we can ALL see why you don't have friends. The definition of a nitpicker, it's like he has underlying issues and has like attention-seeking just like all those blockheaded numbskulls that lazies in that filthy OUTHOUSE of an app.

It´s fascinating how "user of TikTok" is used like an insult here.
I have a reason that was originally going to be a blog, it was because of how hateful TikTok has become.
