yapping about webtoons

is anyone else into webtoons?? I've been feeling the need to yap about webtoons so I'm going to talk about my favourite ones to whoever's listening (or the void)

(also sorry to anyone who was trying to interact with me, I said to myself I was gonna be active on here but its been over 3 months... sorry chat lol. I'm an inconsistent user so I'm not really active on here unless I want to yap abt something) (also does anyone else have social anxiety online???)

1. Jackson's Diary (ongoing)

This was one of the very first webtoons I ever read, I remember distinctly binge reading it inside my sleeping bag while camping with my family (I don't recommend reading in a sleeping bag, I almost suffocated). Maybe this story is a little childish but I love all the romance sideplots, and the fact that it takes place in 1989 (Taylor swift reference??!!?!!?), which is my favourite era of music and fashion. I am so scared for what will happen next though cuz (spoilersss) it looks like the evil diary version of Jackson is going to try and break up David and Exer because somehow their relationship is protecting Exer??? Everything better work out cuz I’m sick of seeing the characters depressed ESPECIALLY DAVID MY BABYYY (I do love the relationship of Brenda and ken though its so cute)

2. hakeism (the author)

WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS AUTHOR THEY ARE SO DAMN FUNNYYY

They’ve made a handful of comics, four of them available on webtoon, three of them I’ve read. One of them’s called Your Wings And Mine (completed), which is another one of my very first webtoons. Specifically this one by hakeism is my favourite, because it has everything I like mashed into one (fantasy, comedy, romance, horror elements, religious trauma). They also have a side story called Bloom and Zoom (ongoing), which takes place in a different universe and revolves around different characters (because what happened to them in the main story was WAY TOO TRAGIC). They also have one called a refreshing summer, (completed) which is a very short romance story. 

3.The Beast of Hadingley Hill (ongoing)

I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCHHH!! It’s another fantasy series and the artstyle is sooo gorgeous. The main characters are so loveable too (there’s probably around three), and I love how the relationships slowly improve between them. There is a bit of romance between two of the characters, but it’s not an outright romance. it’s also not really a slowburn either, it’s more like the characters get to know each other better overtime and have these really intimate moments together as time goes on. This is my personal favourite love trope, because as a person on the aroace spectrum I value intimacy>romance. Anyway this author also has another series called Lorena Immaculate, which I have not read yet because I think it’s on reboot.

4.Time and Time Again

This one has some of my FAVOURITE character designs, as an artist I loooove thick eyebrows and big mouths. Another fantasy story (can you tell I love fantasy?) and it has romance, and this one is similar to the last one where they slowly get closer to each other, although this one is more complicated (death, revival, memory loss, forbidden relationship, all that good stuff). it's seriously so beautiful and funny and the storyline is so interesting I highly recommend this one too. 

Some other honourable mentions include Cherry Crush and Strange And Wild. anywayyy this is super long so I'll just end it there...
