To start this off, I really don't like the word "poser" because of how often it's misused, but due to lack of a better word for this scenario I will be using it.
People that "care about the lyrics", but immediately turn away from a song because the song isn't in their language don't truly care about what everyone has to say or everyone's story. They only care about those that are only speaking in their language. If you have access to almost all the information known by human beings right there in your hands, you can't use the "I don't know what they're saying" excuse. It literally takes seconds to search "*insert song titled* English translation" or whatever language you actually speak. If you can sit there and dissect metaphors and do deep research on a singer's creative process, you can take a few seconds to use a translator. People that speak other languages have feelings and stories too, they also have things to say. If you care about lyrics, actually care about the lyrics and not the language.
It wouldn't be a proper SamIRL music rant if I didn't mention any specific songs, artists, or albums. So here are some songs I like with lyrics that aren't in my language: Happy Death Day by Xdinary Heros, Hold My Hand by HAN from Stray Kids, and Social Path (Korean Ver.) by Stray Kids and LiSA
I might add more songs to that list in the future if I feel like it.
Anyways, hope you enjoyed the rant and hope you have a good day/night!!
