nothing like homophobia and religion in the public school

so this happened on friday, but me and 3 other friends (two are gay and one is an ally) were presenting our project about lgbtq rights and how it isn't accepted enough worldwide. anyways i was talking about how your sexuality isn't a choice is showed evidence how heterosexuals have increased gmv or somethin like that proving it's neurological and then this homophobic kid decided to write "just don't be gay" on the feedback form! obviously my group told our teacher but all her got was lunch detention??!?!?! like okay buddy really?.. and there's so many people in my school who say they're christian but don't even know that lgbtq isn't a sin? i'm not even religious and know that?.. it really shows that there are people who actually care about being well educated christians or people who simply say so.

that’s so dumb, and i seriously hate when people make jokes about the lgbt community in like a derogatory kind of way, like using gays as the butt of the joke or like a punchline. it’s honestly sickening and i wish this wasn’t a thing that was so common but the project sounds cool!!

genuinely we should start normalizing doing this same thing back at straight people so they know how it feels and how inappropriate the behavior is, seriously
