My Digital Confort Zone - Couple of websites that make me feel at home

My Digital Comfort Zone

*6 Websites That Make Me Feel at Home*

There’s something weirdly warm about the glow of an old CRT screen, the sound of dial-up tones (even if I never used them), and logging into a site that still feels like it was made for people, not ads.

These are some of my favorite websites on the internet:

  • Archive.org
The "Internet Archive" is a non-profit digital library that has preserved websites and digital cultural artifacts since 1996. I think it's one of the most important websites online, the amount of content we could have lost forever, but was saved thanks to the Archive, is incredible.
  • Neocities.org
Neocities is a website host that accurately captures the old internet aesthetic, while allowing users to express themselves by building and hosting their own sites. I love it, it's definitely one of my favorite places on the web. I even have a site of my own: Click here!
  • Cameron's World
I mean, just take a look yourself. Whoever made that website, Cameron I think, was on another level. An amazing, surreal old web collage that dates back to 2003. One of my favorite sites for inspiration: CLICK HERE!!
  • Oliveen's Website
I don't know who Oliveen is, but this is one of the most inspiring websites I've ever visited. It gave me a ton of ideas about HTML styling and web development in general. Check it out here!
  • Half-Life Mapping Tutorial by Dimbeak
Okay, this isn't *exactly* a website (though kind of is), but it's one of my favorite playlists on YouTube. I'm a huge fan of the Half-Life series (even though I haven’t finished Half-Life 2 yet). Making maps for the game I love feels like a dream come true. Thanks, Dimbeak! GAMING FOR YOUR SINS!
  • Wikipedia Random
I spend *hours* reading random Wikipedia articles. It's unhealthy. DON’T CLICK HERE!

That’s it for today! Just wanted to post something on a blog. Drop your favorite websites of all time in the comments, I’ll make sure to reply. See y’all >
