Instrumental Music

Am i the only one who prefers instrumental music over any other type? I feel like the vibe the melody gives overshadows any lyrics, i prefer the freedom of interpreting what the melody is trying to portray, what atmosphere, what mood, could i give it some personal meaning, etc. 

And in general i just find it much more enjoyable when doing anything. Most people I've spoken to listen to something with lyrics that tell a story or are relatable and not something instrumental
