This is a big hot take for a lot of people but this is me personally and I’ve seen people have similar experiences to this on IPad kids.
I understand getting a kid a tablet/ipad when their 8+ when they know between what’s right and what’s wrong and are understanding what’s right and what’s wrong…but why the fuck are you giving a kid a tablet/ipad when their ONE?! WHY?!
I babysit my cousin who is two and he’s had a iPad since he was one. It’s hell. Why? Because that damn iPad. He cannot regulate himself without it. You take it away and he screams and hits and the whole fucking 9 yards. Not only that but that kid doesn’t get disciplined. The excuse is always “he’s 2 he doesn’t know right from wrong”…
Teach them then.
Besides, why are you giving a child a personal device when they just got out the womb? These kids will have many issues in the future because of this (I’ve already seen it)

It's so sad to see this issue discussed as a hot take. I've babysat kids before and the differences I have seen between kids who are off devices vs on is drastic. Heck, I can still see a huge difference when it's two kids who both use devices but the only thing that sets them apart is WHEN they got those devices. Kids who got iPads earlier usually displayed behaviors like motor skills way behind what they should have, trouble with speech, and even lacking empathy/being detached from their emotions??? Which I honestly feel is the most concerning one
But I'm no psychologist I'm literally just some teenager so idk but it's just stuff I've noticed

this is not a hot a hot take this should NOT be a hot take. Giving infants devices can do so much harm to them. It's child abuse, that kid is neglected from actual parental care and will have issues in the future. I say this as someone who got a personal phone at 7 without any restrictions or media supervision. That baby can get traumatized without even knowing. I hope that child finds someone who would actually care of them unlike it's parents.
YES THANK YOU!! This is what I’m talking about because I was exposed to harmful content because I had a unrestricted device at like 8
