Three Blind Mice (1938)

I can’t really sleep right now because of the film I decided to watch before going to bed. As stated in the subject, it was the film Three Blind Mice starring Loretta Young, Joel McCrea, and David Niven.

My mind cannot be silenced because Pam’s (Loretta Young) quote is stuck in my head. The quote was “You love me. You love me so much that you tossed me right in the arms of another man so I’d be happy!”. I have it logged on my letterboxd and I wanted to talk about it so much on twitter but I felt like posting about it on here is much more suitable.

I felt that if I posted it here people wouldn’t mind much what the post was about. I’m trying to find a place on the web where I can express my thoughts without ever having to feel ashamed about it and SpaceHey felt like the right place. I don’t know why I didn’t start a blog sooner enough. I had always thought twitter was a go to app to share your thoughts, but I was wrong!

I want SpaceHey to be my personal diary. I want to connect with different people just like people used to back then. Nostalgia is a feeling that hits me with so many emotions that I have no idea what to do with it so I just let it consume my whole being and then I start to feel this empty feeling and a desire to fill that emptiness. So, maybe this is a first step in filling that emptiness.

Well, you see. Pam and her two sister, originally from Kansas, moved to California with their inheritance money in search for a rich man. So, Pam posed as a socialite in hopes of getting a man. Eventually, two men was enthralled by her beauty and presence. Van and Steve. The two of them would have dates with Pam in hopes of winning her. Both Pam and Van fell for each other, and Pam confessed her true background to him only to find out that Van was dealing with debt. Pam told him, and I quote, “It’s just as easy to fall in love with a rich man as it is with a poor one”. But Van refused. He told her he shouldn’t be the one to stand in the way of her plans, which was to marry a rich man, so he believed that in order to fulfill her plan and be happy is to marry an actual rich man (Steve) instead of him.

I watched the film on youtube, if ever you are interested!
