This summer I'd like to let myself be.Ā
If I feel sad, I'll let myself be sad. Sadness is but a feeling, it comes and goes, it's not inherently bad or good.Ā
What happens when you don't let yourself feel the "bad" feelings is that you don't feel the "good" ones either: joy, happiness, hope, excitement... You're not letting yourself live and experience what makes you human: emotions. You experience something which you know should make you feel happy or sad and you only get apathy in return. Something happens, someone tries to make you feel something, and you can't let yourself do this because you're afraid that this will open something, and everything will come flowing out, the good and the bad.Ā
So, next time you feel like crying, let it. And if someone tells you not to cry, tell them it's because you want to. There's no pride in being untouched by the world, especially when indifference and disconnect seem to be so widespread. We're part of the world and it's natural to be in the middle of it.Ā
This summer let yourself indulge: buy a nice, plump peach and really sink your teeth into it.Ā
Love,
Alex

omg you are so right until now i was really not feeling, at least i was trying to not feel bad feelings ny escaping from them until they burst out. this summer im trying to feel and do what i feel like doing. still i cant cry though but working on it i guess...
it really is a learning process: just like how one has learned to bottle things up to cope, now it's about learning to let go and telling yourself it's okay instead of dismissing your feelings! I wish you a lot of luck and be kind and caring to yourself during this process!!
