Disclaimer: This is my opinion. I respect different viewpoints, but here is how I see it.
I don't like the fact that random people are self-diagnosing themselves with conditions, like Autism, ADHD, anxiety, and yada yada you know what i mean right? This feels just so wrong as this trend can be harmful and misleading—not only to the people doing it but also to those who actually live with these conditions every day.
Self-diagnosing some sort of condition without a medical background or professional input can legit create confusion. These sort of conditions are complex neurological conditions that should be properly diagnosed by specialists. When someone who does not have any sort of conditions claims to be, based on vague symptoms or internet checklists, it can spread misinformation. It also risks making light of the real challenges faced by people who actually face those conditions.
Of course, it's okay to research and wonder about your mental health. But turning that curiosity into a public label without proper support or proof can be misleading and sometimes disrespectful to the communities affected. Mental health is important, and so is accuracy. That's why I think self-diagnosing without professional input is not the best path.
