Where are the alternative ppls \(^_^)/

As we've gotten older, it feels like fewer people are expressing themselves the way they used to. Many who once dressed alternatively have started to blend in with the mainstream. It’s like the freedom to be visibly different has faded. We’ve also lost the spaces that brought alt people together—places like music shops and alternative stores like Hot Topic or Blue Banana. These weren’t just shops; they were hangout spots, full of personality and community.

Now that those places are mostly gone, it’s harder to meet others with the same vibe. Without venues, record stores, or smaller fashion outlets, we’ve lost physical spots to connect. On top of that, most fashion today is just fast fashion—cheap, repetitive, and made to look like what’s already trending. Finding unique alt clothes or accessories means digging deep online or spending more, which isn’t always easy or affordable.

All of this has made being part of the alt community more isolating. We used to share a kind of unspoken friendship—individual amity—just by existing in the same spaces. Now, that connection is harder to find. Alt people are still out there, but with fewer ways to express ourselves and even fewer places to meet, it feels like we’re more scattered than ever.
