crying abt giving away my pet babies :(

I am a fish keeper. I adopted a not so pretty fish for no reason other than gut feeling, only for her to gain spots and grow giant as soon as she was in my tank (fish develop colors and spots when they're relaxed - when they're stressed, they stay a solid color to camouflage better). She birthed beautiful fish babies, around 30 of them, that are now growing big and strong. They all have spots like her, you can see which one is male and female by the age of 2 months (which is differentiated by the fin shape), they're geniuely baby giants. I have a pretty big tank, sadly, my fish, mollies, are extremely active and I can't afford to keep more than 10 of them and that's also a maximum. I'm planning to get a second tank, but then again only like 5 of them could stay there.

That means I need to give them to the pet store. Where they'll be stressed again, stocked up in overpacked tanks and some will definitely die from just the fact the shopkeeper can't take care of all tanks as well as an individual can do.

I really don't wanna do it. I'm thinking about removing some furniture to have more space for another bigger tank. Fish developing spots before they're sexually mature (3-4 months) is highly rare and it means they really like it here, I also feed them the best foods on the market (the ones I could as well eat myself), so that they gain more color and immunity, I just can't imagine throwing them out like trash.

I had to put them in a jar for a second yesterday (cleaning the breeding box), and oh my goodness, the way they looked from the side I suspect they'll outgrow their mom (7/8 cm) and grow up to 10 cm or more. My heart breaksto imagine them thrown around into a different tank with overbred chemically fed fish and diseases :(

Yeah, but then there's the next problem, what if they breed again? I won't have enough time to care for three tanks :( I'll put up a local listing online nonetheless to give the 'excess' to someone else that also keeps marine animals for free :<
