Inviting Out the Inward Self 𓂃🖌⊹₊⟡⋆

I have been drawing since I could hold a pencil. I started writing comic books when I was in second grade. I started painting when I was in fifth grade. Art has always been a part of my life. It was an escape during childhood, and it has become a way to express my inward self as an adult. I think one of the most interesting things about being an artist is when people ask me what my art means
I have this painting of an eye floating in a purple ocean with orange lava (like a lava lamp) coming out of it's pupil. What do you think that means? Well, I'll tell you. ❤︎It's love at first sight❤︎. It's feeling like you're floating when that special person walks into the room. It's that moment when the sun hits their eyes and you realize their eyes aren't brown. They're like
honey and lava. It's looking at someone with admiration and a little sensuality. But it's just some paint on a stapled piece of cotton and linen.
I look back at my childhood drawing with the eyes of a psychology student and realize I felt lonely, alienated, and misunderstood at the age of 6. Most of my middle school comic books dealt with subjects like self-loathing, a fear of authority figures, and found family. Nowadays, my art usually deals with days I don't want to forget, feelings I can't express, and general self-expression. My favorite kinds of art are surrealism, expressionism, folk art, and post-impressionism.

Does anyone know how to post pictures on here? I'd love to post my art!
