london trip!!

so i went on a trip to london with school, here's how it went (btw these are all my personal opinions, so maybe you disagree)

traveling and staying there

probably the worst part of the trip erm.... we had to wait FIVE AND A HALF HOURS to get on the boat (we missed the first two boats cause security simply took that long and it was that busy). the way back home was a lot faster and we actually arrived earlier than expected! we stayed with host families in wallington, it wasn't bad at all. we shared a small room with 4 people and the room was mostly just bed lmao. we also had a 7 pm curfew sadly and i don't think i can see any toast anymore for a few years. but overall it definitely wasn't bad at all.

british museum

i was not looking forward to this one and i genuinely don't understand why it's so famous and popular. the only thing i actually enjoyed were the books.

central london (free time)

we went to build a bear (i got the green frog hehe) which was so worth the money tbh. we also went to the moomin shop which was adorable and we went to waterstones picadilly which was HUGE and i got 2 books there (and one in the moomin shop).

city walk and ferry

we walked to buckingham palace, which was cool i guess, and we went through the park there and we saw pelicans and a squirrel and baby geese and it was really pretty. we also saw the big ben which wasn't as big as i expected and there was a huge palestine protest too. we walked to the london eye pier and got on a ferry and it was such a fun tour (shoutout to our tourguide george, also give his music a listen "her name was?").

camden

we went to camden, which was alright, there were some cute shops but a lot was pretty overpriced and stuff, there was also a little park there. overall it was nice, just very busy and overstimulating.

science museum

we were supposed to go to the natural history museum, but school couldn't get group tickets anymore, so we all went to the science museum. really wasn't too bad, there was some interesting stuff, but it was obviously more targeted towards a bit younger audience instead of a bunch of older teens. i'd rather gone to the natural history museum (dinosaurs are one of my special interests), but i didn't mind going to the science museum either, and they had a cool gift shop.

street art tour

after that we had the option of going to chelsea stadium or a street art tour, ofcourse i chose street art tour since it's simply superior. i liked it, we were in the shoreditch area. our tourguide was a bit boring and he really mostly talked about commisioned pieces, but we saw other street art too and i liked that. everyone was really tired though, but besides that it was nice.

midgetgolf

I WONNNNNNNNNNN

westfield mall

we went to hmv (yippeeee) and i got a spiderman pin and wicked and doctor who dvd. also got some dinner. we walked around a bit more and then it was time to go home.

overall it was pretty good, with ups and downs. i will definitely go back on my own, but i need recovery time first lmao.

Heyyy I really like London and your blog page, I'll be visiting soon too and I got a question, how safe did you feel there? Have you ever been somewhere all alone? Is it really as bad as many ppl say? I keep hearing how bad the safety situation in the UK is but idonno if it's actually real or if it's fake

hi, really great question (since i worried about that too). we didn't go out at night since we had a strict 7 pm curfew and i was with friends/teachers basically the whole time... i was in camden on my own for a few minutes and i went back to look for my friends almost immediately. i would say stay with someone else or at least have a charged phone with you and you'll be absolutely fine (and even when you're alone, there are genuinely nice people in stores or smth who will help you if you're lost or feel unsafe or smth). it's not dangerous as far as i know, but there are a lot of pickpocketers and it's very busy and crowded especially in camden, but also shoreditch and central london. i hope this helped, and i hope you have a very fun trip!
