Yesterday, I found out about reports that the Egyptian Government wanted to close St. Catherine's Monastery, the oldest Orthodox monastery in the World for tourism purposes. If there was any Orthodox Christians who are still fuming over the possible eviction of the monks at St. Catherine's Monastery, it turns out those had no merit, as it was later found that the Egyptian court ruled the monastery's status as normal.
But, it comes into question... What if they did? of course, it would be a violation of human rights, our right as a people to practice our religion freely. I don't think it would have passed if it was going to happen, anyways. I just think some clickbait article had seeped into the Orthodox Christians around the World, and rightfully, we got defensive for our beloved Monastery.
St. John of the Ladder was an important saint from St. Catherine's Monastery
