In Poor Defence of Grease 2

It seems like every single person I know who likes Grease has a hardened vendetta against Grease 2, and it really pisses me off. As much as I do like the original Grease film - the cast and characters are great, better than the second - Grease 2 has one of THE most banging soundtracks of all time.

You know, I won’t lie, I don’t even remember the plot of Grease 2. I don’t remember a single scene from the thing, except that one where Michelle Pfeiffer straddles a set of ladders while singing Cool Rider (not sure if this says more about me or the film). Not selling it very well, am I?

However, I listen to the soundtrack aaaaallll the time. I have it on tape and I used to listen to it on my Walkman a lot too.

There is just something about it that scratches the itch in my brain. I feel like it also walks a certain fine line where you are never sure how much has self-awareness of how homoerotic it is. I mean, it’s a musical, it’s always going to be camp, but do you REALLY know how fruity your male solidarity looks right now, guys? Grease had something similar with whatever the fuck was going on between Danny and Kenickie. See below one of my favourite songs from it to fully understand what I mean.

If anyone here wants to form a greaser gang then HMU. We can go prowlin’. You have to be under 5'9" though.  

THERE IS ONE SONG I CANNOT DEFEND. EVER. And it is ‘Let’s Do It For Our Country’. Please guys, do NOT pressure a woman into sexual intercourse for any reason, but Lord Almighty, especially don’t use the reason as Disneyland! That is the opposite of foreplay. I do not approve.
