Feels like the people who claim to be 'weird' are often just toxic pretending it's a personality

Ever noticed how the people who loudly call themselves 'weird' are often just toxic with no self-awareness? Being quirky isn't the same as being rude, manipulative, or exhausting.'Weird' isn't a free pass to act out and call it depth.Real weirdos don't have to announce it they just are.If your whole identity is built on being 'different', maybe ask yourself different from what exactly?

It's the same as the girls who bullied you back in middle school/ high school and suddenly have the same interests or aesthetics you were bullied for back then.
It's the same people "relating" to characters like Patty from Dinner in America. Girl you were the girls/guys that made fun of her gtfo.

it's always those people who are like "oooh i'm so quirky" who turn out to be fake-ahh basic betches with loving friends and family. if they were anything remotely "weird" they would have little to no friends and be shunned by society. it's not like the real ones can't be a little effed up (it's kinda inevitable cuz trauma and crap) but holy shit the "uwu i'm so weird" kids are so effing annoying and in my opinion, way worse.

somewhat related
On TikTok, people are so gatekeepy with being a "weird kid". I recently saw on TikTok someone who was conventionally attractive had a caption in the video saying something about them being a weird kid, and the comments were saying they weren't at all, which is crazy because besides the person in the video, nobody knows whether or not they're truly a "weird kid."

fr bro, they be saying "I'm weird/ I'm that bish" and then they be eating you alive (metaphorically tho) which is kinda weird behavior in a way, but it's not the weirdness that society needs. Honestly it's better to be neurotypical and shi than be pretending that you are not like everyone like come on bro, life is not about getting validation from everyone you see.

Fr...I was always bullied, growing up, for being 'weird' and still am. My old BFF based her whole life around being different. She was one of those tween-style people, but she clearly forced herself into it. It makes me question the appeal of wanting to be different because why would anyone want to be bullied for being themselves? I remember mentioning this topic to her once, and she was so angry.
