🐺 My First Furry Convention Memories

I'll talk about my first furry convention, Anthro New England 2018, and how much I could remember based on photos I have.

So yes, the year was 2018...

I made my fursuit just in time for the convention. I've never been to a furry con before. Mind you, I was in the fandom probably since the year 2000. I've been wanting to a con for a long time, but finally this was my real chance!

This was a badge that I made quickly and put together.

Anyway, I didn't know what to expect or what to even do first! I didn't even know where the entrance was to the hotel! I saw some fursuiters in person for the first time outside, and that's when I was like, "Yup, I'm here!" I was a little nervous, but excited!

I went inside and made my way to the front desk to check in. Got my keycard, made my way to my room, and dropped my stuff off.

I drank Keurig coffee in my hotel room lol. That's how to start a day! :P

I got registered, but I don't remember much of the registration process. I received my con badge, a token for breakfast and a voucher for a con T-Shirt.

I took a walk around and saw that there was a flyer for a Mario Kart 8 Tournament. I didn't participate, but it was cool that was a thing! But I was like, "Ohh, where's this Game Room!?"

So this is the Game Room! Here's where you could play board games and console games. I just remember people playing Rock Band.

By the way, art for the banners were done by their respectful artists. This one was done by @BooBooBunn.

The Zoo area is where you can just bring your own games, bring food, and sit and chat and chill with your friends. For this year, they held the breakfast in here for Sponsors/Super Sponsors.

The art for this one was done by @DangerFox

This was given to Sponsors (and above?). It allowed us to come in for the breakfast.

The breakfast was buffet style, so I grabbed whatever I could fit on my plate!

I sat down at a table all by myself and took a look around.

I knew absolutely nobody...

But it wasn't really a lonely feeling though. It was more like, "Wow, all of these people are here because of a common interest." and I thought it was the coolest thing.

The Dealers Den is where artists and vendors set up tables to sell artwork, commissions, merchandise, etc. I believe this is where I traded my voucher for a T-Shirt.

Same art as the Game Room (by @BooBooBunn).

This was my very first con T-Shirt!!

The Ballroom is where dances happen, as well as fursuit games, and the group photo!

This art was done by @Vallhound.

And what a group photo it was! There I am, right smack in the middle. :3

I went to my room to bathe/shower, and I think the purple came from me...

I was wearing a spandex suit that I got from Party City underneath my fursuit. Yeah, never again!!!

But yeah, I do remember feeling post con depression (PCD) for the first time though.

For going alone and not knowing what to expect, I still really enjoyed my time.

Do you have any memories of your first convention? I would love to hear all about it! ^^
