what is nostalgia ?

soooo, what is nostalgia ?

the dictionary definition of nostalgia is a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations. however, i'm not looking for a dictionary definition. 

i want to know what nostalgia is to you.

for me, nostalgia is like home. it's when i was a kid, walking around in my disney princess heels while wearing the matching dresses with my hair all messy and curly. 

it's when i would walk into my grandma's house for the first time in years and get hit with that old, wooden furniture scent. 

i associate nostalgia with innocence.

it's life before we knew what calories were or when appearance didn't matter. 

nostalgia is the life we once had before we had to worry. our parents cared a little more and we were ignorant of all the trouble that truly surrounded us. it gets heavier as we get older because we know we'll never be able to go back. simply reminiscing about the old versions of ourselves can make our chests ache from longing. 

nostalgia isn’t just a memory, it’s a feeling. it reminds us of what mattered, what shaped us, and sometimes what we wish we could return to, even just for a moment.

now, before i end this blog post i want to ask you guys these questions:
