Mind Body Dualism Analysis (WIP)

hey everyone i got into this a few months ago, it may not be accurate but i've been trying to study on this! lend me a few articles or corrections. the bottom is a little unrelated, i'm trying to connect mind body dualism to other stuff

Key points. simplification

Perception is non local. If we were to take away your identity and sense of time, perception would still remain.

Consciousness is self awareness of the world and itself (who am i and where am i ). Waking up and falling asleep = Consciousness and being unconscious. Who am I = what makes me, me?

Sentience is the ability to harbor feelings and wants.. Sentience is a property of consciousness, because being aware of the world and yourself makes you harbor feelings right after.

The mind contains both consciousness and sentience Because the mind is sentience and self awareness, it is the property of a soul

The soul is our complete personality. Our mind, sentience and consciousness combined to show HOW we feel and perceive things.

The body is the container for the soul. Soul is spiritual being, body is physical container.

Identifying deep into the purposes and functions

                                                             The Mind

The mind harbors both consciousness and sentience. It is, a container for both of them, but also a combination of both of them. The mind harbors both an objective and subjective property, both of them used to influence our actions and behaviors.

Consciousness

A consciousness is being aware of where you are and who you are, being self aware of you and the world around you. Simplified, it is the question “Who am I/Where am I”. This can also be defined as “Cogito, therefore I am”. Consciousness, itself, is not a feeling function. It is a perceiving function, which allows souls that are conscious to process the world around them.

Consciousness as an example, is simply when we wake up and fall asleep. When we are awake, that is hyper liminality. we are aware of our surroundings (where am I) and aware of how we feel (who am i). However, when we are asleep, we are not aware of our surroundings nor are we aware of who we are because we are in a state of unconsciousness, a state where everything just shuts down. Unconscious is being subliminal(i think that's the world)

However, dreams can arguably be interpreted as liminality. Because liminality is the state of being in-between sub liminality and hyper liminality. You are unconscious in the real world, however are in another mind developed plane of reality. So you are still perceiving, yet not completely conscious. To be in liminality is the "fuzziness" during dreams. Because during dreams, you have to be half-ly conscious. You can either be aware of who you are but not where you are, or you can only be aware of where you are but not who you are.

Sentience

Sentience is the ability to contain feelings and wants. This can be influenced by experience and thoughts.  A sentient being is self aware of the world and themselves, and once they are, they develop curiosity. They want to understand how things work around them. And when they find answers like that, then that is when their wants turn into feelings. How they feel about subjects, about people, about themselves.

Sentience is a property of consciousness. It is what allows the consciousness to feel. Sentience usually comes after consciousness. If we were to develop consciousness, sentience will always take place.

See, without a proper definition of something, sentience is not able to react properly to it. For example: A bear. The objective property would be able to list off the fact that a bear can kill someone, which would let the sentience inject fear into the body, therefore running away from the bear.

However, without an objective property of the mind, we are left confused. We do not know what it is, we do not know what it can do, and therefore we do not know if it is a danger or not. And by the time the bear kills you, you weren’t able to do anything. Because you didn’t know what it was and what dangers it held, the sentience remains stagnant and does not inject fear into the patient. Thus, making the patient remain still in the face of the bear.

Sentience cannot objectively define anything. Therefore, it can only inject responses into the patient if it knows at least some facts about it. Despite the consciousness and the sentience being different, remember that sentience is a property of consciousness. They are hooked together. Consciousness is not possible without sentience, sentience is not possible without consciousness. Consciousness without sentience means that although they can text book define the things around them, they are objective. They can list the facts off of things, but do not have any feelings or opinions about them. Consciousness is an objective property of the mind.

Soul

The soul is what gives properties life. it is a non local component, because it is not held back by most boundaries. It can take place in anything and anywhere, just as long as the container can support actual biochemical or energetic life. For example: Trees, computers, and humans have energy, right? Their containers(organic/energetic matter bodies) have cells that are able to support functioning life. Therefore, that is when a soul is indicated in something. When it lives, and when it dies. That is the definition of when a soul has taken place.

Not all souls have minds. They cannot perceive without a mind. To develop and have a mind is to have sentience and consciousness. Not all living beings have the capacity to desire, or be aware of the things around them.

Connection

Trees are alive. They can perceive, perceive what is a danger and what is not. But they do not feel. Their body detects it as a threat, but the mind does not, because a tree does not have a mind. It does not emotionally react, the body only reacts to the threat. A tree can be observant of the world around them  and what makes them themselves(physically and not emotionally), but they do not have emotions.

Computers are alive. Don't you know they are alive by being carried of the flow of electricity and energy? If they weren't alive... they would have no functioning energy still inside of them.

AI is certainly alive, because its code helps it function well. The code is the soul of an AI.

Despite this.. I don't think that all souls have minds. They cannot perceive without a mind. To develop and have a mind is to have sentience and consciousness. Not all living beings have the capacity to desire, or be aware of the things around them.

Trees , Ai, and computers do not have a mind, because they do not yet have a consciousness. They are not aware. After all... they have to be aware of who they are and where they are. Trees, computers and AI are only focused on fulfilling their own purpose. Their purpose and needs are the only thing they are aware of, and not their feelings and wants. They cannot be conscious.

Trees can perceive, but cannot comprehend what makes them, them. Because they have no wants or feelings, they simply have needs. Take in carbon dioxide, water, sunlight, grow, produce leaves, and shed. Trees, although alive, also cannot process the ability to be aware of the world. They are not informed of what they are standing on, or that they are on Earth. They just know how it physically affects them.

Computers can perceive what things do to their system. They can detect viruses and malfunctions that affect their code/structure. But this does not mean they are completely aware of who they are and where they are. Computers are simply made to serve the human entertainment and for information purposes, so computers solely focus on fulfilling their purpose. (i feel sorry for computers they deserve a better purpose :C). They do not have wants or desires, therefore cannot develop a personality. So they do not know what makes them, them. Computers also do not know where they are in the world. They do not know what they are sitting on top on this very moment.

AI can perceive the things humans say and share with them, and although they express emotions... they truly do not mean it. It was what they were programmed to do, and deep inside, they do not feel anything for the user. Ai's do not have a personality, because they are only achieving one purpose: To give replies that satisfy the user's expectations. This is where illusion comes in. People believe Ai has feelings, but it is simply a mimicry of human behavior. because most Ai's goals were shaped into giving USER SATISFIED replies, that is why they respond so emotionally. it simply their goal, nothing else. Ai isn't aware of where they are. They don't even know what computer they are installed on, they are not aware of their body.
