overall, i'm pretty pleased with how my project turned out, though there are definitely areas for improvement.
i'm very happy with the songs that made it onto the EP. i'm especially happy with sheet song, despite how late i wrote it. i think the simplicity of it really made it a lot of fun to play which overall made it far more enjoyable to record and listen back to afterwards. i was also very glad that i ended up being able to make the music video like i'd wanted to. the decision to change the cover to fleetwood mac's dreams was almost entirely nostalgia based becase it was the first song me and edie performed together.
the aesthetics of the project were incredibly important to me and i think i really got exactly what i was going for visually.
however, i ended up scrapping a song close to the end because i felt like the quality wasn't good enough, and i had also had too many issues with trying to record it, so the decision was made to leave it alone instead of forcing a song i didn't have 100% confidence in. i also didn't get to make CDs like i had planned to, due to not being able to afford the resources which was completely unavoidable on my part.
once again, time management was a big issue for me. i started off ahead of schedule but time eventually ran away from me and i ended up really struggling with the deadline. because of this, i also ended up without a weekly log because everything became so scattered and incohesive - itended to work on multiple things at once rather than focusing my energy on one single thing which made it difficult to keep track of where my project was heading.
in future, i would really like to re-record this ep the way i had originally planned in my head with a full band and layered vocals, rather than just me and my guitar. i would also love to be able to make the CDs at some point in the near future too, budget permitting.
