loneliness p.2

hello everyone ! (๑'ᵕ'๑)⸝* i hope you guys are doing awesome !

i want to talk about loneliness again. we've all felt lonely before. maybe we long for a relationship or we feel excluded from our friend group. regardless, it hurts. sometimes we make that hurt even worse.

loneliness is more than just being alone. it's being misunderstood, unseen, unheard, and silent. it can be like tv static. it's noisy, yet it gets turned off. no one truly wants to hear it. that's why we hold onto things that are no longer there as our loneliness progresses.

it's easy to remember the times you were okay and think back on how you were happy. you grab onto those memories like it's your last meal because it feels like the only connection you have left with the people who were once there. 

the memories take you back and it hurts. you're so desperate to return to the time when things were perfect, the time when you could genuinely smile without having to put up a front or laugh freely. as much as you try to disassociate and relive that time, your conscious knows you can't.

those moments are over. you're no longer there. that time passed. you're here now. you're here stuck in this loop of longing for reconnection. you dream about going back in time just to feel seen once again because that's the only place you feel safe.

it's your only escape. 

the only time you feel free of this pain.

...but you know that the memories only deepen the void. 

you're holding onto the past because that's your last connection with them. you are intertwined by memories. you're strangers with a shared past- one you both remember, but only you still hold onto.

the only reason why you continue to keep these memories in your stronghold is because a painful connection is better than none at all.

you're not alone. reach out. you're strong. ♡
