I watched the FNAF movie as a non-fan

I may know some things about the franchise because, obviously, it's popular. I watched some gameplay from content creators I at least recognize. But, I never played any of the games.

I know the movie is also popular, but I don't know if people actually liked it. So, today, I wanted to watch the movie. I searched about it, and I saw that the IMDB rating for it is just 5.3. I kind of knew it would be like that.

I have watched it, and, yeah, I don't think I like it.

Obvious spoilers ahead.

My first impressions were mostly just, nothing. The beginning felt a bit unnecessary yet it was because, look, the main character will be in a job and the job is at Freddy's! Wow!

Then my expectations were apparently too much, as the events didn't occur. Why isn't the main character checking everything, locking doors and such? Throughout the whole movie, someone else did that like once.

I didn't know that the animatronics were just... friendly at first even when he was inside.

Then things got confusing and complicated when the situation about his sister evolved. What do you mean Venessa, Springtrap, and William Afton are already in the first movie? Especially Venessa, because she's in FNAF 4 or probably after 4, no?

Also, there are cheap scares. They're not like the games at least.

Speaking of the games, WHERE are the sound effects and music from the games?? It's just stock sound effects. Even the Mario and Sonic movies done better with using the original music in some ways. ONLY the popular remix is played in the credits. I mean, good for The Living Tombstone though.

Also again, why is MatPat in the movie. Yeah, just put him in, it would be funny. HAHA. I JUST SIMULTANEOUSLY WHIPPED AND NAE-NA-

I can't really tell if this is all lore canon. Because even with other movie adaptions, they're not entirely lore-accurate either.

The summary of the movie for me is just: Some guy who lives with his young sister did something bad as a security guard(???) then he had a new job at Freddy's. He remembered he had a missing/dead brother. Trauma moments ensued. Some weird children and William Afton (the guy who offered him the job, no vey) take over the restaurant. Venessa somehow showed. He killed William because he was somehow involved about his brother. The end or whatever.

Yeah, it's a bad movie. I understand why is the rating a 5. The modeling is great, they're as close as the games, but the story feels like it's not too enjoyable.

My rating will be... also 5/10.
