Good evening everyone! I spent the night taking some more astronomy photos. This time, my target was Messier 81, Bode's Nebula. It sits about 11.6 million lightyears away and was discovered in 1774 by Johann Elert Bode.
I tried a different method of processing this image since my last one of M51, and I'm much happier with the results!
This picture doesn't just contain M81, three other galaxies are distinguishable: M82 (on the right), NGC 3077 (near the top), and NGC 2976 (in the bottom left).
As a bonus, since I was so pleased with this new processing method, I also re-processed my image of The Whirlpool Galaxy. I am far happier with how this one turned out compared to my last one. (I also didn't crop this one in nearly as far. I like seeing its place in the night sky)
Hope you enjoyed these. I've been having an absolute blast practicing astrophotography again. I've seriously missed it, and I'm so happy with how much I've managed to improve.
Thanks for reading, y'all.
