I Reached 1 Year on SpaceHey Here's Why I Made My Profile
To celebrate my blog reaching the 1 year mark, I wanted to reminiscence on why I was originally motivated to create a blog on SpaceHey in the first place.
Nostalgia
While I wasn't on Myspace during it's heyday (I did make an account, but didn't really use it), I felt the nostalgia and yearning for a social network that wasn't solely run by algorithms meant to keep me scrolling.
I was also tired of how modern social media serves you content to make you mad, sad, ect. so you'll comment. (It's draining to be so pissed off all the time!)
Learn a New Skill/Customization
Through editing my blog I am learning so much about HTML! It's really interesting to me to be able to edit how my profile looks and have a closer look at the back end.
All the possibilities for customization is also overwhelming in a really exciting way. There's so many aesthetics out there, it's fun to continue to tweak my blog and try out new things.

Make New Friends
As most people do, I crave friendship! I wanted to connect with other people with similar interests on a completely new platform.
While there's not a really robust system for direct messaging (thus making connecting sometimes hard), I definitely have met cool people here. Currently I am finding that I meet a lot of people from other countries which is exciting to me (I love cultural exchange)!

Feing for the old days of the internet. I barley watch youtube anymore because of obnoxious content & before I found this website I actually stopped getting on the internet because it was that boring to even surf the web. Though I know this feeling won't last long as soon as this site gets popular.
Yeah there are a few niche YouTubers I still watch but it's not what it used to be, I can scroll for a while until I find a video I like. I think the internet used to be way more fun and playful but now companies are afraid of risk so everything is so bland.
