as usual, here's your (irregular) weekly io bullshit because i crave yapping. yada yada, trigger warning for sensitive topics, etc. this one is gonna sound a LITTLE directed i promise it's not, so just think of this as a one to one facetime call vibe or something.

Shutting the fuck up is the solution to a lot of things, I fear. You don't like them because they're weird? Mind your business. You see someone posting about a fandom you don't like? Scroll. Hate a community? Don't interact with em. It's so easy.

A common argument is the following. "Oh! If I don't say anything, they'll keep doing bad things! It's not bad to tell someone to off themselves if they're bad people!"

It is not of your personal volition to be the internet's janitors. That is the job of site moderators and Layze respectfully, and are you either of those..? No? Okay. Thought so. You are not starting your vigilante arc, you're someone who got handed a phone and think they have the authority to preach purity on everyone who you don't agree with.

Oh heavens, they were doing something they're entirely in their right to do that follows the ToS on an app I willingly use!! I'm going to call them a slur!! /sar. Do you even know how you guys sound? It's even worse when these people go into fandom spaces DIRECTLY. Like, imagine you go into a restaurant that makes JUST mac and cheese, right? But you hate the shit out of mac and cheese. It fills your blood with pure hatred. It makes your ancestors roll in their graves. Shit makes you see red or something. So you start yelling at the people eating the mac and cheese. And at the cashier. And at everyone. And you get mad when they kick you out. Like... the fuck?

"Someone from that community did something bad to me once so I hate you all!" I'm.... sorry? Am I responsible for your trauma by correlation, or..? What the fuck am I supposed to say to that. That doesn't give anyone an excuse to harass people.

And it's so much worse when they act like you defending yourself by blocking them or deleting their hateful shit on your profiles is cowardice. Like no, you're killing the vibe Rachel, this is not the aura you should be bringing to someone else's function.
