Spring might be making a cameo soon. The weather for the most part has been gorgeous, very sunny, bright blue skies, little wind. Snow is melting but that doesn't mean winter is behind us. We still have one more month to go. Let's all hope the winter is tired of making us depressed...
I know hardly any of you know me on here and that's okay. One thing I have suffered from since I was a kid has been Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D.) For most, it's the winter that bums us out. A few will feel like this in the summer when heat and humidity is a killer. I personally dig the heat (but humidity makes my hair frizz real bad!) The past couple of winters had been pretty mild so I wasn't affected as much. This year, forget it. I lost all drive/motivation/desire for a lot. Thankfully I love teaching, as my students bring me great joy, and they enjoy seeing me as well. We are all tired of Zoom/Skype, so here's hoping that whatever "normal" looks like, will come back soon.
And a few people have asked me on other social media sites, "What's going on with the music?" I have decided to take an approach called admirable restraint. Yes, I was not happy with the way things were going so I stopped. Was not about to spoil the vibes and throw the baby out with the bathwater. I had put the songs away, left them to simmer for a few weeks. In the past, it would have crushed me to do such a thing. Now I am older and wiser, and realize that the songs are not going anywhere, they aren't vanishing in thin air. I returned to the songs recently, and found myself appreciating most of them again. But am I ready to record? Not yet. The heart is not totally there.
But it always comes back eventually!
