Something happened today /pos

Hey, Peryton here!

Today was the last day of GSA for my school year. We had a party with pizza ands we watched I Saw The TV Glow.

We had a queer awards and everyone got to vote on who fits the best category, nothing serious like the grammys or something. It was small and the prices were only card games and such. I won nothing really (even though, longest relationship award was really close to me winning. EHEM, but I'm not salty abt it really) but one thing that happened was that there was this award picked out for someone special.

My GSA supervisor is a real gem, I relate to her a lot and we both went through experiences we can both reflect on with our queer and trans experience. I'll miss her when I graduate eventually.

One of the special prizes at the end was meant for someone who has really grown as a person since they entered the class. They were shy at first but then they warmed up. They shined through the clouds they were so used to, it's crazy what a community would do for them. To know that there's people like you, who has experienced your situations and thought your thoughts. Who can help you learn that: You're not crazy for wanting to wear a suit for something important to you, or if you want to wear a suit because you WANT to wear a suit. People who are there to tell you that it's okay to feel this way.

If you couldn't tell, that person is me. I feel happy for achieving this goal. I've grown, and someone saw my improvement. 

Community matters to me so much. People see me, and I see them. They're here for me.
