School computers SUCK !!!!!!!1!!!!11!!1!!!1

I HATE THEM !!!111!!!!!11!!

The Chromebooks are slower than my TI-84 calculator. I genuinely cannot understand why anyone would intentionally want a Chromebook, because these are god awful.

the fuckass chromebooks we are REQUIRED to useThese are straight ASS. 4GB of RAM and it's slower than an Amiga home computer. I feel like an old man when I say that back in my day, we used to have proper Windows computers, and even newer Macs!! I'm just complaining because I can but I genuinely hate these machines.

Oh, yeah. Those things suck. Recently my school implemented some new monitoring thing that makes your computer briefly double every tab you have open, & then close the doubles. Since our Chromebooks are crappy, it near always lags the computer an insane amount. It takes about a minute & a half just to get into anymore. Not to mention how breakable those things are. I've only broke mine once, & it was about.. 3 quarters into the 2022 / 23 school year? It stopped turning on, & wouldn't charge. Had to get a new one. A good chunk of my friends have cracked the screen, or done something else dumb with it. They're flimsy things that don't work.

I still remember when we had Windows 7s.. I liked those things. I think there's still Windows 10 or 11 in other classrooms, but most of the school's on Chromebooks now. Dammit!

They didn't have chromebooks when I was in school - that initiative started just after I graduated. You really wanna know the reason - no one actually wants them - they bring with them a slue of new problems that every other generation didn't have to face - one of them being that now you can't run from homework. It's a big monopolization push by three or four companies to get government contracts (mostly state and local level) so that they can hedge against ever bankrupting themselves. Google - that one's obvious - but there's a few other softwares that I'm sure they make the kids use these days that all route back to the same few companies. If I were in school these days I would out and out refuse to use the damned things - I would go to the point of getting the internet disconnected in my home to ensure they wouldn't send one home with me.

Same deal with free school lunches. At least then most schools I’ve been to buy from local suppliers when possible. No such thing as a local chromebook, though.
