I feel much the same as I did with the previous DCC books. It takes a while to get me hooked, and right when I am, the ending is clear in sight. I feel it’s hard to keep the suspense at a near maximum when everything is already so outrageous. This makes the highest moments of the book feel less steep. I really like that a plot thread I suspected is coming to light at the end here. It’s honestly a surprise it took so long.

One thing I can say about this series compared to the other LitRPG I read is that I can see a clear end in sight here. There’s only so far Carl can get before he either dies or claims the head of everyone who put him here.
