The fifth wave that I haven't gotten into yet.

I am an avid fan of fifth wave emo, specifically screamo and BLA-influenced stuff, but there's a whole subsect of it that I've barely listened to. I follow a lot of diy-sphere people on twitter and there's a large amount of discourse on a whole sphere of bands I've never once listened to. I like to consider myself emo, but it seems like I've let like five years of music from a definitive section of the emo world go unlisted.

The music in question is bands in the vein of Ben Quad, Carly Cosgrove, Arm's Length, Saturdays at your Place, Riley!, TRSH, Red Sun, Kerosene Heights, Carpool, Harrison Gordon, and more bands that I see get discussed on twitter & r/emo a lot.

I categorize fifth wave into three flavors (with some overlap of course) which are post-emo, philly style, and skramz revival. This section of emo that I am unfamiliar with is what I call philly style.

Ultimately I am making this blog to keep track of my thoughts of these bands as I listen to them.

Reviews will go here:

Ben Quad's i'm Scared That's All There Is - Tight sparklepunk to midwest emo, clean,

Arm's Length's There's A Whole World Out There -  alt rock to post hardcore fusion stled emo, polished sound

Need to do Oolong S/T a redux review

philly style bands that I am actually familiar with: Moosecreek Park, Leisure Hour (Who have stayed at my old apartment in Syracuse), Ogbert the Nerd, ok cuddle, Combat (who I have ran shows with), Origami Angel, Oolong and a few other literal philly based bands my friends or mutual friends are in.

I Think that I should try to listen to artists playing Faux[chella] in Bowling Green, and Gainsville's FEST.
