New Kitty!!!

We got a new kitty today!!! Our first pick got adopted on Sunday, but now I think it was fate! This sweet girl (who'd been shy when I'd come to volunteer at the shelter on Sunday) came out of her hiding spot and started loving on us immediately—even my mom! That's how we knew she was a keeper!

Her name at the shelter was "Kiki" but my dad was insistent we change her full name to “Kiki Dee” who sang “Don’t Go Breaking my Heart” with Elton John. I thought it was a cute addition. To fit her very 70s name, we got her a 70s looking collar!

She's a little over a year old, and so far she isn't much of a talker. After some pets, she went under the bed and took a nap. I don't blame her! It's been a long day. I know I've wanted to hide under the bed after a lot of social interaction.

We've got a vet appointment on Thursday to make sure everything is a-okay! She's spayed and got all her vaccines, so only concern is that her teats still look a bit swollen after her spay surgery (which was five days ago). We just want to make sure there are no hormone problems (or any other problems!).
