I've been questioning what declares something funny for a while even though I know its very subjective and tried to narrow the qualifications down to atleast get some sort of stablization on what makes something funny.
The most I have come up with is stupidity and cuteness.
When someone does something stupid we might find it funny or not and when we see a cat or dog do its thing (cuteness) we might just find it funny and smile.
The thing is its not clear where we draw the line like how we might get angry or disappointed when something is too stupid or not give much of a reaction when its not a big deal (of stupidity).
Somehow, cuteness seems to work in a slightly different way like how some animals are so ugly they start to seem cute.
I just cant find the borders to what is and what is not funny no matter how I look at it.

What is Funny ?

I also noticed that people can say the exact same thing and it can only be funny for one of them.
For example I’ve seen men say stuff like “women don’t like me” and it’s funny af, but then women say the same thing like “men don’t like me” and it doesn’t sound funny.
Many of what we define as funny is culturally structured for sure.
Looking at what babies laughs at may help us figure out what we NATURALLY find funny.

I think humor changes fro m time to time, like how memes from a few years ago are cringe now, and memes now will probably be cringe in a few more years. And like you said humor is subjective, but what you said did make sense.
I think what is considered funny is what makes you laugh at the moment, and it doesn't have any category, like how you'd laugh at something even though it isn't "funny" it was just unexpected

There is no way "aura farming" or "(Something) grindset" is funny. I think some people just straight up rent their brains to the manipulative effect of social media , memes and the likes.
I used to think the people who would say video games make bad examples and nurture violent behavior but now I can totally see a dumbass jumping on tortoises like fricking Mario.
For example the trend of throwing microwaved cheese on the homeless like 2 or 3 years ago. It wasn't just 1 or 2 people. It was a singular video growing and encouraging others to do the same for people envy others.
Because of examples like these, they might have been a little right. Definitely wrong for the most part tho.

But then it's morally wrong, and this kind of humor needs to stop. However, it's funny to THEM, they'll STILL laugh about it, even if it's not funny to you. So I still think humor cannot be defined, However it has to have limits, and when the "joke" turns into harassment, a line has to be drawn.
