An Xbox360 Childhood - Kinectimals

I was doing my hair the other day when I suddenly remembered this fucking game - it was like a flashbang in my mind, literally it was like a sleeper agent acitvation. I have no idea how this memory suddenly reawakened itself in my brain. Anyway if you were privileged enough to have an Xbox360 growing up, you likely had the little kinect thingy where you could play interactive games by jumping and moving around instead of using a controller. One of the games that I'm preetty sure came with it is Kinectimals.

TL:DR it was a children's video game reminiscent to Tamagotchis - The whole idea was you could choose out of the initial six starter cubs and raise a cute kitty to play with, train, feed, and so on. You could start with either a cheetah, black panther, tiger, lion or leopard. I personally always went with the leopard because my childhood stuffed animal was a leopard named Telly :D

What I really wanted to talk about is the aesthetic and essence of this forgotten game - back then as children it really did feel like you were transported into this beautiful, serene world where it was just you, your little kitty and that bitchass flying creature named Bumble that always told you what to do. It reminded me a lot of the Pixie Hollow flash games that were a thing when the Tinkerbell film series was still going. The graphics and animations were impressively smooth for its time - I remember just not even playing the game, and just observing my cub just exploring its surroundings in its idle state, playing in the tall, lush swaying grass, rolling around in the beams of sunlight that peaked through the tree tops, scratching at the fallen logs, and even retrieving toys it finds around the Woodland Glade. Even the background music captured the same tranquil, magical atmosphere of the place, I'm pretty sure I've fallen asleep listening to it.
Anyway that's pretty much all I wanted to share in this one, I hope someone else out there still remembers this game!! Come to think of it, it was a bigger part of my childhood than I thought! Maybe it's why I feel drawn to luscious, green forests compared to any other nature setting :3
